Milk Club Interior Design Project – a modern milk bar at a higher education institution
Milk Club is a revitalization project of an existing gastronomic space on the campus of a higher education institution – Kozminski University. The task was to transform a standard premises into a functional, welcoming and aesthetically pleasing milk bar aimed at students and university staff.
In the project we focused natural, warm colours and materials that create a calm and cosy atmosphere. Light wood, beige fabrics, matte architectural concrete and muted earth tones dominate. As a result, the interior feels soft and inviting while remaining modern and easy to keep clean – a key consideration in a high-traffic space.
The central element of the layout is the self-service barA long, monolithic concrete counter serves as the main serving area for meals and drinks. Behind it, shelves for dishes, bread baskets and a preparation zone were designed. On the left side there is a glazed refrigerated display case with baked goods and fruit. The entire arrangement was planned so that customer flow is smooth and intuitive, while service remains highly efficient.
Above the bar hangs a large textile banner with the name “MILK CLUB”, which functions both as visual identification and a soft architectural accent. Simple pendant lights illuminate the work area without dominating the space.
The Milk Club project is an example of how the tradition of a classic milk bar can be combined with contemporary gastronomic interior design. The space has become not only a place for a quick meal, but also a friendly zone of everyday academic life – functional, aesthetic and visually coherent.
